I travel to the Drive Inn from Roanoke. Last night 10/11 go to see a double feature movie, feature movie was the second movie. I go to the concession stand and its already closed, short guy with glasses said he didn't have the help, WTH. Who closes the concession stand at intermission, he said he announced it before the first movie started, I didn't get there until 5 min after it started so I didn't know that, there were probably 20-25 people who walked up while I was standing there. Short dude then said he couldn't pay the labor with the gate only making $200, first that doesn't matter, you don't close the stand before the second movie starts, second I know he lied about how many people were there, must have been a hundred cars there, it wasn't a bad crowd. One lady said she just got there to see the feature and there wasn't anyone taking money, she drove in for free. I short dude needs to be fired.
This is a great historic drive-in. Friendly staff and tasty food. At 7.00 for adults, it makes for a great night out.
Love this place.. Son and I make at least one trip per summer. Reminds me of my days growing up at drive in movies theaters in the 70'.. They do it right here and is a great non-profit.
I've been to a few outdoor movie theaters in a few different states and I have to say really loved this one. The parking levels were all a good tiered height - perfect for most cars. The place filled up, but it seemed everyone there was polite, which makes it much more enjoyable. They have a store for food: popcorn, corndogs, fried pickles, etc. Everything is good and they are very friendly. If you are around, please visit. They are worth every penny and it's a really good time.
Our first trip here was for Back to the Future Day on October 21st 2015. We watched all three Back to the Future movies, it was an amazing evening. I have always enjoyed a trip to Hull's Drive In since then. I have found each visit to be a wonderful and memorable experience. The visual quality is top notch. The audio plays through your vehicle speakers and through the well placed speaker stands. The environment is clean and very family friendly. The concession stand is well staffed and provisioned. The staff are polite and helpful. Their cheese burger is quite excellent. I look forward to the next time I get to go back.
