Such a beautiful place. I always love coming here. The history is amazing and the atmosphere is even better.
Drove 8hrs to vacation outside Lexington, Va with my family, and this was one of the many stops we are making this week. Had an awesome time, and am giving a 4 star review. I am unable to give a 5 star review due to the fact the confederate flags are no longer up around Lee's marble statue because of the snowflake liberals, and terrorist organization black lives matter, complaining over the confederate flag. It's our history, they need put back up where they belong. Next, they will want Lee and his family removed from the crypt along with closing down the museum.
If you like history this is a great place to go. Also the Administrative assistant here is one of the best in the country.
Enjoyed it very much. Wish they still had the flags in the chapel. Loved Travelers grave and the apples left for the horse.
I drove over 7 hours to see Lee's final resting spot and it's beyond beautiful. Our tour guide was Maggie and she was awesome. Down in the basement is the crypt and museum. They left his office the way it was....you can honestly feel his presence. I cried (and I"m a Scorpio...we never cry)
