It's strange when you notice a hotel has done some renovations, yet gotten worse. This is the halfway point to a regular drive I make, so I've stayed here at least 4 times over the past 2 years. It's really gone downhill, even after some supposed upgrades. For one, the bathroom door wouldn't lock. Actually it wouldn't even shut. Thankfully the rusty ironing board is kept in there, so I propped it against the door to keep it closed. I considered using the mini fridge (also kept in the bathroom), but figured it was paired with the bottle opener mounted to the wall next to the toilet. I didn't want to separate the two. The room also smelled like 10 wet dogs had lived and partied there for a week. It was only bearable because of my stop at Taco Bell a few exits prior. My chronic nauseating flatulence masked the mustiness emanating from the comforter and sheets. Whatever. It's cheap...I could suck it up. I then went to the front desk to request another towel, since you know, most places only give you 1 or 2 the size of a big washcloth. The once-white towel I was handed was now a dark shade of grey. There was a small hint of brown too, so I'm assuming it was washed with old dish water and maybe a little dirt. My farts finally got so bad, I had to temporarily leave the room. Oh look! I big open field next to the parking lot! I figured I could take a quick stroll while admiring the beautiful mountain scenery. It was relaxing for 5 seconds until I realized I was in mine field of dog turds. I guess it's actually an unofficial dog park where I can only assume the Saint Bernards and Great Danes that once partied in my room left massive steaming treasures for unsuspecting people like me. I retreated back to my noxious room to wash off the remnants from my shoes and get some sleep. Instead of 1 star, I'm giving this place 2 stars. That's only because I assume there are people out there who enjoy sleeping on a pillow the thickness of a sheet of loose leaf paper. If you do, I found the place for you! I'll be moving on to the Comfort Inn across the street.

We stayed here 10/14/17 while on a bicycle trip and found this to be a clean, well-kept motel. The room was large though sparsely furnished and the beds were comfortable. The only minor drawback was that the shower was extremely forceful which could have knocked down an elderly person or a child - I've never experienced that strong of a shower before. The reception staff was very friendly and enthusiastic, a nice welcoming to the motel. While a continental breakfast would have been nice to have, I can see why they didn't bother with Country Cookin across the road having a good breakfast buffet.

Otherwise nice.

Very clean and comfortable. Quiet too. I recommend this Motel to everyone. The only complaint bring your alarm clock, they don't have one and the wake up call on our last night never rang, we over slept and was late leaving as we asked for a 6 am call., So we could be on highway by 8 am.

After 10 hours on the road we arrived at Motel 6 in Lexington, VA after 9 pm. We just wanted to shower and veg out for a few hours. The TV would not connect. We called the front desk and they told us to give it a few minutes. The picture finally came on but only for a few minutes after which the picture would just clock and clock. My husband called the desk again and the clerk offered to change rooms for us. Seriously, dead tired and we're going to change rooms? This Motel 6 is just not up to the recent upgraded standards expected from the Motel 6 name.

Easy, friendly check-in even late at night. Lobby is clean and open, nice floors and entrance area. Very, very clean upgraded room! Wood/laminate nice floors and updated bedding, (the pillow cases felt a little rough, just FYI if you have more sensitive skin). The bathroom was pretty big and very clean too. Pet policy is one the best too, $10 for 1st pet, second is free. Lots of surrounding grass area to walk dogs if needed. Had coffee in the lobby in the morning and a vending machine if you needed snacks. And on our side of the motel we could see mountains from the window, just a nice bonus. Location is right off of 81, very easy access. Highly recommend for the weary traveler. Would stay again for sure!
